Shitty. Amazing. Resilient. Action. 17 Things I Did to Make the Most of This Year.

17 Things I did to Make the Most of This Year.

  1. Banished my iPhone from my bedroom. If you’re addicted to technology, like I am/was, you’ll understand how major this is. Took me about three weeks to seal the habit. Result: I no longer feel doomsday urgency, immediate crazy fucking pressure to save the entire planet by 7:30am. Ya know? I meditate more often. I walk into the kitchen chill. I have an uninterrupted conversation with my boy. And when I do fire up the phone, it’s bam, boom CLARITY time.
  2. Before bed, I fill 2 larger mason jars with water + 2-3 tablespoons each of apple cider vinegar (I alternate with lemon juice). I put them on an altar area I have in the kitchen (but like, your counter will do.) And I ask that the water be blessed and super-charged overnight for me to drink the next day. I also fill a jar for my son (just water) with his name on the lid. I told him that one jar of water a day is rad for clear skin and will help him hit his goal height. Amazing what that did for water intake. (Benefits of apple cider vinegar: regulates blood sugar, highly antibacterial, so great for gut health and skin.)
  3. I turned my business growth strategy inside out. For 7 years it was: Grow through visibility. Publicity, magazines, Facebook ads, gigs, exposure to new people, GROW THE LIST. That’s no fun in the long run. We turned it all inside out: Focus on the Tribe — the people who are already here, resonating. And then traditional “growth” (defined as more profit per year and increased audience) is the organic bonus of serving the Tribe. (I’ll write more about this in 2018. xo)
  4. Read the entire Medical Medium series from Anthony Williams: Medical Medium, Life Changing Foods, Thyroid Healing.
  5. Stopped eating dead animals, most of whom were injected with hormones, raised and killed in inhumane and unsanitary conditions. (After 12 years of eating meat, I’ve returned to vegetarianism/vegan-curious living with some, um, intensity.)
  6. I declared my love for someone even though I knew it would probably be an unrequited love story (my least favorite kind). Truth liberates your power. Everytime.
  7. Stopped working Fridays. Pretty much. Wrote about it here.
  8. Used Living Libations toothpaste to rebuild the enamel on a problematic tooth (as opposed to having gum graft. #healthyself)
  9. Hokas. Fuggliest running shoes. BEST for shin splints.
  10. I super committed to meditation as my key wellness and service practice. That devotion makes every area of my life deeper, saner, sweeter.
  11. I stopped being afraid of pissing off my so-called enemies. I’m never out to aggravate situations, and I don’t want to hurt even the people who take pleasure in hurting others, but I used to be overly…restrained. Over politeness can be a survival mechanism, based on fear of retaliation. Here’s what I figure: If you’re giving me a hard time for no good reason (I include the patriarchy in this), then I don’t mind letting you know that I think your behaviour is douchery. I’m quite sure this is how revolutions begin.
  12. I mustered some compassion for the mean girls. Because, everybody’s looking for a place for their pain, ya know.
  13. My key travel survival strategy became: get clean food, ASAP. I used to grab what I could in between terminals and gigs. Now: I get off the plane and go directly to a healthy grocery store. Even if it means that the taxi or Lyft driver [I avoid Uber] hangs in the parking lot, I make sure provisions happen first.
  14. I make soup on the weekends. (Which is to say, I made soup twice and it was edible and I think I’m on a roll.)
  15. Got my house tested for mold and then got it the hell out of my life. Tore down a wall. Got air purifiers. Homeopathics. Essential oils. Lots of people go years with health symptoms and never get to the root. Fight.the.mold.
  16. Culled my Instagram follows to under 100 people. This made IG way less exciting, and thus, helped with social media addiction. Now when I think about someone (who I used to be following and probably offended by unfollowing), I go to their feed and see what’s happening for them and engage. Like, real time interest.
  17. Went one whole year with no psychic or astro readings, channellings, or workshops. I call it an input fast. And I lost a lot of psychic weight.

Press forward and help your tribe have a better 2018. xo

Summoning all cosmic beings for support? It’s better if you just focus.

Summoning all cosmic beings for support? It's better if you just focus

You know how when you’re really messed up and you reach out to EVERY friend? You text them ALL at once in case the one person you really want to talk to isn’t responding IMMEDIATELY. And then you feel kind of dirty after because you got all frantic and spread your nuttiness around when really, you could have just connected with your one friend who tells you the truth every single time?

I think it works the same way with angels and cosmic guides.

I used to call on ALL of them. Simultaneously. Dear God, Goddess, Archangel Michael, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Metatron, Gabriel, Raphael, Saint Anthony, Mary Magdalene and Jesus Christ. (Take a deep inhale…) Buddha, Saint Germaine, and Durga. (Pause). And Kali. (How could I forget Goddess Kali?!) And Eva LeFay (she was my Yellow Lab, now in doggy heaven. A pet psychic told me that she would always be protecting me, so yep, I’d call on that dog.)

Pain and confusion can make you frantic. Unfortunately, frantic doesn’t do anything efficiently. It spills energy all over the place, it can’t see what’s right in front of it. One of the premises of spiritual growth is that we can keep our cool in chaos. Focus over frantic. Friends appreciate that kind of steadfast behaviour, and so do our spiritual guides.

You’re in a relationship with great cosmic beings. You are that cool. And they’re that beneficent. Of course these benevolent, beautiful forces want to, and will, help all who come calling. You can get some love from whomever you turn to. But why not go for intimacy? And efficacy? Depth. Why not invest in the relationship for a greater return? And this… how about trusting — trusting in your chosen Goddess or your most resonant spiritual deity. Trusting in the power that you are turning to them for.

It’s easier to listen to just a few voices than many.

It will take some time to find the relationship and to grow together. And like all relationships, from heavenly to earthly, respect is key and intimacy is the reward. Stay calm, turn to your few beloveds, and let them love you.

PS: Send this to that one friend who tells you the truth all the time. She’ll get it. xo

I’ll just go out on a limb and say it…

You may have already heard my love story about how I came to meditation, finally. So now I’ll just go out on a limb and say: MEDITATION—or some form of contemplation or prayer—is ESSENTIAL for your sanity and fulfillment. And if you don’t dig it, then you probably haven’t found the right kind of meditation for you yet. It’s out there.

I invite you to meet the The Creation Space Meditation KitIt’s a mosaic of practices. Think multi-faith, multiform Medicine. It’s a meditation and also a vivid visualization. With a mantra and an invocation. It’s all of these sacred practices, as one vibrant organism.

Curious? Have a listen here.

Each Creation Space Meditation Kit includes:

• 10 and 20-minute audio versions of the creation meditation.
• Introduction + meditation theory (and cheerleading) audio from Danielle.

• Written formats and a meditation cue card (for you visual learners).
• Suggested essential oils + body postures to further open you up to the nourishment.
• Journal exercises

The Creation Space Meditation Kit is $25 USD, with $5 going to our charities fund!*

There are two ways to work with this light:

1. Buy one kit for yourself for $25
2. OR gift it forward and save: Get the program for yourself PLUS send it to a friend for $35. So you get 2 kits for $35. We still donate money to charity, and we’ll email your gifted kit to your friend with a love note from you.

If you’d like to make a bulk purchase of kits for a group or a LOT of your friends, please contact us at meditation@daniellelaporte.com.

See you in The Creation Space.

One Love,
Danielle

*Charity Details:
$5 USD from each kit sold is shared with three charitable causes:
1. Eve Ensler’s VDay, a global movement to end violence against women and girls.
2. Charity: Water, to bring safe drinking water to everyone in the world.
3. A disaster relief fund. We set aside one third of the monies raised to be disbursed to local relief efforts if/when major natural disasters occur.

PS: Encourage your people to find their meditation love match. Press share. xo
