Q: What does it mean to you to be a Desire Map Facilitator?

It means that I get to be a visionary and a trailblazer in helping others create their lives. I believe The Desire Map is a radical way of being, and being a facilitator means that I’m lighting the path for others to find what really makes them feel good.

It also means that I am part of an amazing community of like-minded individuals — both Desire Mappers and Facilitators!

Q: Where were you, in life or business, before you become a Desire Map Facilitator?

I was approaching my second year of being a coach/entrepreneur (and a year free from the world of corporate finance!). I was teaching yoga and felt a desire to shift away from my nutrition/health coaching practice, and towards deeper work.

I became fascinated with behavior, beliefs, and how we create our realities. That fascination brought me to study and become certified in transformational coaching (rooted in neuro-linguistic programming). I knew that The Desire Map would be a foundational process, both for myself and to use with future clients to facilitate an initial awakening. Desire Mapping combined with transformational coaching can create powerful shifts.

Q: How have you used the Desire Map Facilitator Program in alignment with your coaching practice?

I’ve been really playful with this and I continue to dream up new ways!

I created a free six-day course (delivered via daily emails) to help clients simply “make space” before they even begin The Desire Map. This course does not use The Desire Map material directly, but it primes the pump if you will.

In my coaching practice, I believe the number one thing you can do up front is to create space in your life to do the work. This is the essence of my free six-day Turn Yourself On course.

I also collaborated with a boudoir photographer to put together an exhibition on what it means to be your True Self. I hand selected a dozen women, had them complete an in-depth questionnaire, and then coached each of them to really pull out their Core Desired Feelings. On the day of their photoshoot, I led them through a sensory visualization to help them embody their CDFs. The exhibition was featured in the Boston Fort Point Open Studios (Fall 2015 and June 2016). Seeing the power of this experience for each woman was emotional, and it made me realize the potential for combining these two modalities into a Desire Map experience, memorialized with imagery.

In addition to my one-on-one coaching, I recently began leading a four-week, in person, group offering where I combine feminine-based yoga (pelvic power!) with a guided journey through The Desire Map. Soon I will bring this four-week experience online with a group format.

Q: What makes Desire Map such a powerful tool for coaches?

The Desire Map provides a clear framework, goal, and outcome (learn how you want to feel). I also believe that the beautiful branding and design makes the experience fun and sexy. It makes personal growth feel good!

The community support is also powerful. The shared wisdom by facilitators has been so helpful as I think through the many variations of this work, such as a one- or two-hour workshop.

Q: How did becoming a Desire Map Facilitator impact you as a yoga teacher?

This is a great testament to the power of The Desire Map!

Once I became clear on my CDFs, I knew that the style of yoga that I had solely been teaching (Bikram) was no longer the “one and only” for me. I love the practice of Bikram Hot Yoga — it’s foundational for me — but I started listening to my body and how she craved to move more freely.

With Sensual as my beacon CDF, I embarked on a 100-hour training in a Tantra-based style of yoga. It feels amazing to tap into your shatki, your breath, your voice through mantra, and your feminine energy. This style of yoga helps awaken our wisdom and intuition — a beautiful match for Desire Map work!

Q: What makes Yoga and The Desire Map a great pair?

Movement, especially through yoga, is a way to access deeper wisdom. I believe that when women can get out of their heads and into their bodies as a vehicle to access their core truths and desires — that’s where the good stuff is and that’s what makes the yoga and The Desire Map a great pair.

Going even further, I believe that when a women can connect with her primal, feminine energy (through a feminine focused/sensual yoga), something magical happens. A woman feels whole, alive, and loves all parts of herself.

Testimonials from workshop attendees

“As a natural born skeptic, this isn’t the kind of thing I would normally go in for. But I am so grateful that I took a risk and pushed myself to grow! Ashley provided a warm, safe, and kind environment to share, explore, and learn. I am so glad that I did The Desire Map Workshop with Ashley.

A year later, and The Desire Map experience continues to resonate and have a significant impact on my life.  I now have a clear and meaningful compass for how I make decisions, both in my personal life and my business.  I’ve been able to slow down and appreciate what I have.  I encourage any women to dive into this experience.”

“Before I discovered The Desire Map, I was having challenges with expressing my feelings and my wants.

During the workshop, just sitting with my feelings impacted me the most. The hardest thing for me to do over the past couple of years was process all of the feelings I was having. Having the tools to sit with my feelings, and process them in a healthy manner, was what had the most profound affect on me. Having better awareness of my feelings has allowed me to enjoy my life much, much more.

Go for it! It will be challenging, as you will likely be digging into some uncomfortable issues. But by doing so, you get to work on those issues, get them out in the open, AND get to move on! Who doesn’t want that?”

“Ashley is a beautiful soul who possesses a natural talent to lead effortlessly and guide great, meaningful conversations. Ashley is the real deal: when you’re with her, you are safe and supported in connecting with yourself while doing the transformative work of discovering what you really desire.”
