"Crazy ambition requires radical practicality." LOVE that. As an entrepreneur, I've always felt this pressure to be the breed of crazy that ignores practicality and shoots for the moon without a firmly-rooted game plan. I have insecurities wrapped up in my ultra-planned-and-organized self. But this post is a huge reminder that my organized side and my big-ideas side don't have to be in tension. I spent enough time dealing with stupid crazy when I was one of those Silicon Valley dudettes.

It is so nice to know that I'm not the only one who is crazy. People ask me how I do the things I do or manage to create products while running my business - I see it falling into two main categories: desperation and no need to see life & work balance.

There is plenty of time for life & plenty of time for work. But they aren't going to balance. You've got to get while the getting's good with whichever needs you most, right?

Thanks again for this post - and for helping me realize I'm not alone in the crazy.

Another brilliant summary! I love short deadlines. I think most people set really long ones and then procrastinate and do everything last minute anyway. Short ones mean getting more done, having better results and keeping the flow going so that we have a better time doing what we do.

Clearing the clutter of obligations, getting a tonne of support and creating accountability by declaring your goals to the world are all amazing tools. Good one!
