Rock your emptiness

Rock your emptiness

But what if we rocked our emptiness? Felt the perimeter of ourselves. Relished the silence. Made friends with the peace that’s always waiting for us. What if we got off on the discomfort of our emptiness and let it be creative tension?

Whats-Underneath-Wishful-thinking

What’s underneath wishful thinking?

Wishful thinking is tangled up with craving. We want what we want. So we ignore the evidence that we’re very likely not going to get what we want out of a situation. Craving… wishing. Craving… denial. Craving… tolerating. It’s a wishous cycle.

All the things that softly kill me.

The hate. All the hate. It makes me fume and spin. The light. Oh the light! The light that is powerful enough to transmute hate into Love. “T’was blind, but now I see.” That kind of light.

a sentiment for blazing

close your calendars
of regret
smash clocks and barriers
with your better knowing
throw soft light on

The Bright Privilege

Your aspirations
are not a race, an exam, or a series of skill testing questions
that permit you to proceed…

Nothing changes without me (a poem for open, terrified hearts)

Sometimes, my heart is so open
I can’t tell
if it is a gaping wound
or a portal
for everything
that ever was and ever will be…

roses absolutely everywhere

When I broke out of prison
I found Roses absolutely everywhere.
(I did hear them singing through the bars.)…

Pure generous radiance

Before I chose my face for this world
even before the shape of my heart…

focus (a poem for sacred prioritizing)

We dance ’round fires
to pray for others to change,

and we change our names
so that a reality we don’t truly want
will let us in the door…

You have no jurisdiction here (a poem for boundary-making)

The outline of my being
shines brighter than
agreements I made before now…
