Holding out (do it!), overcoming distractions, and messy healing. And! A Daily Ritual Worksheet for you. My December D Digest is here…

This is what healing looks like—from cancer to politics, and our bleeding, blazing hearts.

Healing is as ugly as “healed” is gorgeous. If we don’t judge the mess of it, we’re more likely to get to the other side of it sooner—and more deeply healed and stronger than we ever imagined possible. Scars and all. Healed.

Holding out. The most underrated spiritual act there is.

Good things come to those who… hold out. You ask the universe for someone awesome to fill the role of lover, team player, or power broker. You ask for a change of scenery. And then something close enough happens. And you do the cosmic shrug and think, “Well, close enough.” It’s new. It’s different. But… new and different are not the same as resonant and deeper. You have to hold out for that kind of magic.

You’re worth the wait.

Resolution Roots: Dig in and make better plans.

Have you ever wondered what’s at the root of your resolutions? What drives your ambitions? Have you ever peeled back the layers enough to see what launched a new promise—and why you saw it through or let it go? Enter… RESOLUTION ROOTS. For all of us. With these few key questions you will peel back the layers of motivation behind your goal(s). What you find might surprise you.

The “royal practice” of overcoming distraction.

Most of us approach distraction as a time management issue—how we wrangle our to-do list and hit our goals. But when you zoom out and look at it esoterically, it snaps your priorities into place, and fast.

5 Q’s for your deeper Year In Review.

Last year I sat in a pub in Ojai, while Steph pushed me to do a rapid-fire reflection on the closing year. She gave me a few minutes to write out my answers to these 5 questions. Holy instant pattern recognition. If you stay out of your head and ask from the heart, CLARITY can happen like THAT. Snap. Here’s how it rolled out for me…

Excessive-tolerance is so 2016. Self respect is all in for 2017.

How to wish someone well—in a way that will blow your life wide open.

We’ve all been hurt. Screwed over. Taken for granted. Unseen. And once we untangle our hearts and egos from those painful interactions, sometimes we can still manage to send someone positive vibes. Harm done, but okay. Everyone did their best. Onward. I wish them well. And even though you’d never commune or collaborate with that person ever again, you really mean it. But how deep does your well wishing run?

Dear God, help me out with the basics, would you?

Show me how to love the ones that are like, really hard to love. The misogynists and boundary bullies, the fake leaders and land-rapers. Actually, for the sake of efficiency, just show me how to love the most greedy. That should cover it. (But while we’re at it, help me out with the Mean Girls, ‘cause like, whoa.)

There’s so much faking it to make it and deception happening in every sector of life — from politics to self-improvement. So how can we hone our truth detectors?

Women, boundaries, and spirituality. The perfect storm.

In my experience, boundary obliviousness is part of the initiation into wholeness. I don’t think you have to warrior your whole life for it, but it’s a passage to self-agency that most women seem to have to go through. Boundaries help us expand our consciousness.
