Team D here. We gave Danielle the week off to take a mama+son trip to the Big Apple.
While she was away, a story came across our desks that we wanted to get your insight on.
One of our Desire Map Licensing Program Betas sent us a note and told us that when we first asked her to be a Beta tester, she was… scared.
“My biggest fear was: How will I manage it all? I had a baby six months ago, and it has been a real learning experience to figure out how to run my business with an infant.
But I knew that running Desire Map workshops would tap into all of my CDFs – and it did! That’s why I said “YES” when Team D reached out. I knew that what I’d gain in connecting to my CDFs as a facilitator, was going to far outweigh any logistics challenges around setting up the workshop.”
Kate found childcare she trusted in, talked with her awesome husband about how he could support her work plans and she committed to solid ‘work’ and ‘non-work’ hours, so that she made time each day for moving her work forward and also spending quality time with her family.
She has found an approach to motherhood and entrepreneurship that works for her, one that helps her feel the way she wants to feel in her business and in her home life. How have you been making it work?
We told D about our idea for this email and she suggested: Take it to Facebook!
So, yes! Let’s have a conversation about this, over in The Desire Map Facebook group, where we can all chime in. Come over to the post and tell us:
What are your tried-and-true tips and strategies for making space for the work that lights you up and the family time that your heart desires?
Share your thoughts in the comments HERE.
Whether your “family” looks like a gaggle of kids, an assortment of furry pets, one loving partner or a diverse collection of friends, neighbors and relatives, we all have offline relationships with people we want to share our time and attention with.
So let’s talk about the fine art of how we do that: honoring the work our hearts are yearning for and meaningfully connecting with the people we love the most.
We believe it can be done. We’re working on figuring it out for ourselves, too. Tell us what’s been working (or not working) in that department for you.
