I’m loving…Spark Seekers, The Good Life Project, and bliss.
The latest album from Matisyahu, Spark Seekers is high vibration groove-gasmic. (If you’re in Vancouver on September, 24th. I’ll be at The Vogue rocking out with him, in the audience that is.) Matis recently took a turn from his Hasidic devotion and freed himself of his beard and forelocks, and black suit. He’s on the other side of his crossroads. I’m at the foot of some new choices for myself and this whole album is resonating in my bones.
Unleash it. Here’s the first release:
Love songs in the key of Aretha Franklin-esque
Rebecca Ferguson. Teach Me How To Love. Yes.
I just discovered CoverJunkie.com through Arem (the smokin’ hot Creative Director of The New York Times Magazine). “Coverjunkie is an addiction to magazine covers you wanna lick. A celebration of creative covers & their ace designers.” Lick ‘em here:
More Love Letters
The World Needs More Love Letters is a community of “love letter writers” who write and leave letters anywhere and everywhere… books, coffee shops, coat pockets, trains — in hopes that the right people will pick them up. Letter writers document the writing and dropping through photographs, blog posts, and social media. It’s started a movement. Love it HERE. Swimming with wild dolphins. Wow.
I heart dolphins. Like I never thought I would. This year I wrangled a group of old and new friends for a Dolphin experience in Kona, Hawaii, led by my favourite physicist-philosopher, Peter Russell. We swam with pods of hundreds of wild spinner dolphins. It was the kind of magic that affects you on a cellular level. We meditated, cooked together, experienced awe together. If you want to plan your own group trip, Peter is offering private, very affordable excursions. Swim!
The Good Life Project
I’ll always love cruising for great TED Talks, but my new smart inspiration fix is Jonathan Field’s Good Life Project interviews — I’ve watched every one. He’s getting some fascinating people together, and he’s an excellent interviewer: Katherine Preston On The Upside Stuttering, Charles Duhigg On The Power of Habit, Dan Ariely On Why We Lie And How We Decide, Coco and Breezy Light Up the Fashion World, Bart Potenza On Building the Vegan Candle Cafe …
Bliss. In a bite.
These chocolate macaroons from Vancouver’s Organic Lives are better for you than most vitamins. They are the “equivalent amount of antioxidants as two cups of blueberries.” Gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, vegan. Order online HERE.
Poetry from Heidi Rose Robbins
“What bounty is your whole body yearning to receive? Choose it.”
This poem by soulful astrologer, Heidi Rose Robbins, is breathtaking. It’s pure nourishment at the beginning of any project…every week. I close my eyes and just listen. “Water and listen…” :
