No one ever taught me how to manage money. My folks were young and working, Catholic High School didn’t give me any tips, and I skipped college. So that left me and my Visa card, which mysteriously showed up in the mail on my nineteenth birthday. I promptly went shopping that weekend. And the next weekend.
If I’d had this new book from Kate Northrup, Money: A Love Story when I was starting out, I would have had more cash in the bank and fewer pairs of cheap shoes. And significantly less self-judgement about all of it.
Katie (I get to call her Katie because we’re awesome friends), Katie and I found time to put this conversation on film the morning after a great party in Portland. Hence the make shift TV set and bad hotel room chairs. (Media mogul sisters doin’ whatever it takes.) Girlfriends and money. And Love — it always gets back to Love.
