Q: What does it mean to you to be a Desire Map Facilitator?

Being a Desire Map Facilitator has given me the opportunity to do what I am most passionate about: connecting with and supporting people who want more out of life — people who aren’t willing to settle and who want to push the limits of feeling good. The work and the people I have met along the way inspire me daily and have welcomed me into a loving and encouraging community.

Q: Where were you, in life or business, before you become a Desire Map Facilitator?

Before I became a Desire Map Facilitator, I had recently left the corporate world to start a business and was coaching full-time and consulting with a network marketing company. I was just starting to gain some momentum and facilitating The Desire Map fit so perfectly into what I had already created.

Q: How have you used the Desire Map Facilitator Program in alignment with your coaching practice?

My coaching shifted pretty significantly after becoming a facilitator. I had already started to weave the basic theory of The Desire Map into my programming, sprinkling Danielle-isms and #Truthbombs here and there and gifting the book and workbook to clients from time to time.

Prior to becoming a facilitator, the foundational conversation with a client would be about their health goals and their “why.” I had success with that but realized I wasn’t going deep enough. When I started to incorporate the Desire Mapping process and shifting the conversation from tangible goals to feelings, I began to see the impact of our time together strengthen and accelerate. Additionally, between my existing coaching business, my network marketing company, and being a Desire Map Facilitator, I’ve created a tribe through a referral loop of clients that beforehand never really overlapped. Clients became workshop participants and workshop participants became private clients. And, naturally they refer their friends to me!

Q: What makes Desire Map such a powerful tool for coaches?

The Desire Map is such a powerful tool for coaches because the approach is so unique and so…real. Regardless of what kind of coach you are, when you can understand your client on this level, it truly shifts and elevates the conversation. You can’t bullshit your way through Desire Mapping, and it requires a certain level of grit and vulnerability that so many people are uncomfortable (or unfamiliar) with. In that cracking open, as a coach and Desire Map facilitator, you have the opportunity to hold their hand and guide them towards a freedom that will undoubtedly be brand new for them.

Q: As a certified health coach, much of your work focuses around helping people get in touch with their bodies and rewrite their relationship with food and nutrition. How does being a Desire Map Facilitator support you in this work?

Being a Desire Map Facilitator has given me tools, resources, and experiences that allow me to “go there” with a client. How we eat, how we exercise, and how we take care of ourselves is so very personal and so deeply rooted. In order to make lifelong changes, you have to dig, to find that “thing” that is impossible to turn away from. So many people work with coaches and either see quick results that disappear as quickly as they were acquired, get discouraged, or just coast through a program.

Being a Desire Map Facilitator — and having done the work myself — has taught me the true value of starting with how we want to feel before we begin to talk about eating habits or how much weight we want to lose. Otherwise, we could spend six months together and a client could lose ‘x’ number of pounds, but they still might not feel any better at the end of the day.

Q: What is your most cherished memory of being a Desire Map Facilitator?

My most cherished memory of being a Desire Map Facilitator was my very first workshop. I had eight incredible women, many of whom had never met before. Within the first 30 minutes, we were all in tears. It was raw and vulnerable, and I was overwhelmed by how each and every participant walked in that room on day one ready for whatever was about to happen. Watching the connections and friendships that were created that day was inspiring and a true honor.

Testimonials from workshop attendees

“I had Desire Mapped before, but I didn’t think I had gone deep enough, because I had very surface-level feelings. I’m currently in an exciting, yet also terrifying, transitional period in my life, and I thought it would be a great time to go through the process again in a workshop setting.

I loved being able to have a space, time, and support to open up and get vulnerable with myself. I don’t think I would’ve gone as deep if I’d gone through the process again on my own. But the biggest takeaway was my Core Desired Feelings (obviously!). The experience was deliciously good for my soul. Marcy is an electric facilitator — she was beaming the entire time and you could see how full of gratitude she was for being able to be a part of our Desire Map journey. She was also a very steady and calming presence. I appreciate her straight-forwardness as I think it brings a good dose of reality to a process that can be somewhat idealistic at times. It’s such a magical experience. Anyone would benefit from it, simply because it gives you the opportunity to check in with yourself.”

“Do it, regardless of what “phase/stage” of life you are in! The energy, environment, commitment to enlighten and focus on one’s spirit and energy (undisturbed) is amazing and so important. The people you meet are awesome, and Marcy is just good vibes and peoples. Your expectations (not that you should have any) will be exceeded and you’ll learn a little about yourself, others, and how you live your life.”

“There are SO MANY THINGS to love! I really enjoyed having it at my Facilitator’s home…I think having it at any other location would have taken away from the experience — or at least made it feel less intimate. I also loved the music, arts and crafts, and snacks! I’ve shared with others how my perspective has shifted from solely focusing on what I want to focusing on what I want to feel. This experience was like an awakening; simply uncovering what was already there and just breathing life into it. I feel like I understand myself more than I ever thought I could, and I’m so thankful for sharing that experience with seven other amazing women!”
