I was in that romantic, soupy place. Chemicals firing. All that longing and neurosis stirred up at the beginning of something that you have so little control over but… oh, the craving to control. I was already tucked into bed that night but I thought, “Ah! The 4 Noble Truths Of Love!” So I hauled ass downstairs to get to my already-dogeared copy of Susan Piver’s new book. It’s medicine when love is driving you crazy, or you’re crazy in love.
The 4 Noble Truths Of Love is one of the most exquisitely wise—and comforting—relationship books I’ve ever read. It’s a lighthouse for the beautiful, murky, mess of intimacy; one of those keepers that you wear out and gift to every friend and say, “This will help.”
This book has permanent residency on my bedside table now so I can keep coming back for Susan’s compassionate reminders: that we are inherently good and our capacity to love is indestructible.
This conversation is going to be RICH. Susan is a deeply skilled teacher of Buddhist meditation, she is incredibly wise and hilarious. Mostly, she is all for love.
Please tune in to INSTAGRAM STORIES for this noble girlfriend and I getting into how-to’s of sane L-O-V-E.
