the burning question series
Once a week or so, I ask a Burning Question — from the soul deep to trash frivolity. (Actually, I’m not that frivolous. Which doesn’t mean I’m trashy, anyway…)
I answer the question, and I invite you to do the same, either on your on blog or on Facebook.
Generally, I think people should ask more questions. Of themselves. Of each other. Questions are doorways that lead to higher consciousness… or pop culture trivia. Both are good. Join in.
If you want to run a Burning Question on your site:
1) Please lift a badge from below and drop it into your post or side bar. This is optional, of course. But it’s good karma.
2) If you don’t want to pimp out your post with a badge, please mention with a link, that the Q was inspired by DanielleLaPorte.com. Again, optional good karma.
3) If you’d like to link back to my site, we’ll tell the world that you too are pensive and thoughtful, and they can check out your answer to the Burning Question. Link love. You can do so at the bottom of each post I publish.

Rory was one of those big thinkers with the best of intentions. Lots of friends. Plenty of ideas. Sweet soul that she is, her money situation was always a mess. Rory and I were talking about earning money and I slipped this question in, ’cause I just had a feelin’: “So, where in your life...

It was the first time I ever had to fire someone. I was working for The Body Shop, Canada. I had good reason to believe some staff were pilfering the Peppermint Footcream and for other loser-related reasons, they needed to be sent walking. I had a great boss, Clea. I still think of her management...

There’s a story my friend Pasha told me about about a mythic band of magic-loving Irish folk. Feeling the call for newness, they would forge out to settle on a new island. Necessarily, they would make the journey by ship. When they arrived to their next land they would unpack — and then promptly burn...

My heart has a long list of things of things that I would like someone else to revolutionize. Like healthcare. Everyone should have it, free; we should focus on prevention not reaction; and we should treat the cause, not the symptoms; emotions should be part of the healing model; I could go on, except, I...
