What's inflamed in your inner or outer life?

This is a personal question. I don't expect you to blog about it, or share your answer on Facebook. You might just want to tell yourself, and your best friend, and your guardian angel.

What’s chronic, repetitive, or inflamed in your inner or outer life?

Muscles get inflamed and choked from repetitive overuse. And it takes just one overtaxed muscle to stifle an entire limb, which then throws off the alignment of our whole body. When we stop using the muscle in the same way, blood flow can return and pain makes way for vitality.

In the same way, an old psychic wound or one small behaviour continually repeated could strain your whole life.

Some burning answers I've heard before...

My chronic condition is . . .

“I have a repetitive martyr syndrome that is getting real old.”
“There’s an odd pattern of my getting into wrangles with customer service people. Their ‘dumb’ behavior hooks my sense of entitlement and superiority.”
“My perfectionist tendencies (or at least that’s what I’ve labeled them) keep me from pulling the trigger.”
“Not believing I am allowed to.”
“Comparing myself to others.”
“Not believing I ‘can.’”
“Being competitive.”

Freedom begins when you can identify the aggravation you’ve been accommodating for so long.
